Part 2

Finding beauty in small aspects of life

Being a process oriented techie; she has a natural flair for detailing, which makes Aakarshan’s products stand apart. As a truly free spirited designer, she finds inspiration in small aspects of life, be it garden or birds, trees or jataka stories. She has also revived the local Jadau art of Bhopal, which is no mean achievement. To tell you a secret, even her dreams usually consist of….you guessed it right.

An Eye for Everything Styled with Perfection

“Being a Taurian and ruled by the feminine Venus, how I carry myself is really important to me”, she notes. Like Taurians usually are, she is emotionally and mentally strong and sticks by her principles and values in every circumstance. If she is sure, she is right, she doesn’t give in easily, which is a valuable trait for entrepreneurs. As a true Taurian, she is also loyal to the core in her relationships.

When it comes to design, she believes in “out of the box thinking”, while she wants her box of life filled with prosperity. She has taken another challenge upon herself viz. to shift the mindset of customers towards jewelry. While most of the people consider jewelry as an investment, she wants people to look beautiful and handsome adorned with her jewelry. She wants to create an Aakarshan, an attraction in each of her customers, be it male or female. She believes, “You need to think of an occasion and wear that piece on that particular occasion rather than keeping them in lockers”. Ahem Ahem.

Life lessons learnt early

She reminisces early lessons from her parents and shares, “My mother brought me with lot of ethics, importance of righteous money and her biggest lesson was to keep one’s head high. She was a homeopath and her patients came from all over India. An amazing combination of grit and grace, she is more of a provider than a taker in life”. She adds, “My father taught me winning against odds as he was a true visionary and doer.” Regarding her relationship with her life partner she notes, “On one hand, my husband Parag is humble, supportive, very calm and a minimalist, on the other hand I try my best to compliment him with my qualities”. Isn’t that every husband wishes for in her wife?

A Gemopreneur

She recalls her first experience of getting an international order from Singapore and the entry tax itself was 21 % in those days. She is striving hard to not only make Aakarshan a global brand, but her love for India also makes her desire to make Aakarshan a global ambassador of India’s craftsmanship.

She believes in being a woman of both style and substance and dreams of creating a Tiffany from India one day. Shweta is a gemopreneur in two ways; she is a master of diamonds and gems, and she is a gem of a person herself.

The success story continues.
