The world of podcasting witnessed a grand spectacle at the Battle of Voices 2023, hosted at the prestigious Jio Institute in Mumbai. This event not only celebrated the emerging talent in podcasting but also underscored the significance of auditory storytelling in today’s digital age.
Bloggers Alliance & Voice of Achievers organised the 3rd Edition of Battle of Voices, National Podcast Competition recently. The award ceremony was organised at Jio Institute, Mumbai.
From its inception, the Battle of Voices competition has aimed to provide a platform for aspiring podcasters to showcase their talent, narrate compelling stories, and create a lasting impact on their audiences. This year, with over 100 plus participants from diverse backgrounds, the competition was fierce, reflecting the growing popularity and reach of podcasting.
Jio Institute- Co-learning with global scholars & thought leaders
Located at Navi Mumbai, Jio Institute is one of India’s premier institutions for higher learning envisioned by the Reliance Foundation. The institute has partnerships with global institutions such as to enhance its international appeal, enabling a diverse learning ecosystem.
A core tenet at Jio Institute is to learn from global scholars and thought leaders. Students get an opportunity to learn, discuss and deliberate with distinguished academicians and industry stalwarts from around the world.
Celebrating Diversity
What stood out the most during the 3rd Edition of National Podcasting Competition was the sheer diversity of topics covered by the podcasts. From riveting tales of personal experiences to deep dives into historical events, from explorations of obscure scientific phenomena to intimate interviews with personalities from various walks of life, the range was staggering. This diversity underscored the limitless potential of podcasting as a medium to inform, entertain, and inspire.
The event began with welcome address by Sachit, student of Jio Institute. It was followed by sharing of Bloggers Alliance story by Founder President Dr Amit Nagpal.
Great Stories Happen to Those who can Tell Them
Dr Nagpal inspired the students and audience with his wise words. He began with why great stories happen to those who can tell them and need for learning storytelling skills. He highlighted later that leaders need to focus on taking actions which trigger and create stories. Great leadership is after all about bias for action.
As Dr Nagpal rightly pointed out during his speech, “The power of the human voice, combined with a compelling narrative, can move mountains. It can inspire change, foster connections, and even heal. Podcasting is not just about creating content; it’s about touching lives, one episode at a time.”
Dr Palak Sheth- From Conceptualization to Internationalization
Dr Palak Sheth shared the journey and milestones of Jio Institute with the audience. He is Project Director, Jio Institute and under his leadership, the institute launched three post graduate programs in 2022 in AI and Data Science, Digital Media and Marketing Communications and Sports Management.
One remarkable aspect of Dr Sheth’s profile is his expertise in creating world class institutions, right from conceptualization to internationalization. While he has already achieved this feat in case of Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, he is in the process of repeating the same for Jio Institute.
Panel Discussion
Yashika Begwani, National President of Podcasters Community of Bloggers Alliance shared about Battle of Voices concept, which was followed by a intellectually stimulating panel discussion. The panelists included famous names from the podcasting world including Aditya Kuber, Suchita Bhhatia, Mae Mariyam Thomas and Abhay Maheshwari. The panel was moderated by Yashika Begwani with interesting questions. Students of Jio Institute and participants asked interesting questions to the panelists. The special guest Dr Yogesh Dube and jury members were felicitated by Co-Founders Amit Nagpal, PhD and Devendra Vishal Jaiswal.
Award Ceremony
Dr Palak Sheth and renowned HR author & Guru Harjeet Khanduja (Sr VP-HR, Reliance Jio) subsequently presented the awards & certificates to winners of the competition. The event received an enthusiastic response from the guests, students and participants / winners of Battle of Voices 2023.
The evening concluded with interactions over lunch hosted by the Jio Institute. where participants, judges, and attendees mingled, exchanged ideas, and formed new collaborations. It was a testament to the unifying power of storytelling and the potential of podcasting to bring people from different walks of life together.
